Preliminary statistics from China Customs show that from January to May 2023, China exported a total of 9.938 million tons of various large-element fertilizers (including ammonium chloride, potassium nitrate, and organic fertilizers for animals and plants, the same below), a year-on-year increase of 31.3; the export value was US $3.581 billion, An increase of 6.2 percent year-on-year.
In May, 2.563 million tons of various fertilizers were exported, an increase of 53.3 per cent over the same period last year, while exports amounted to US $0.838 billion billion, an increase of 3.6 per cent over the same period last year.
In terms of imports, China imported a total of 4.82 million tons of various fertilizers from January to May 2023, an increase of 22.5 per cent over the same period last year, and a cumulative import amount of US $2.662 billion billion, an increase of 41.3 per cent over the same period last year.
In the month of May, China imported 888000 tons of various fertilizers, an increase of 31.3 per cent over the same period last year; imports amounted to US $0.47 billion billion, an increase of 6.2 per cent over the same period last year.
