Preliminary statistics from China Customs show that from January to April 2024, China exported a total of 7.056 million tons of various large-element fertilizers (including ammonium chloride, potassium nitrate, and animal and plant organic fertilizers, the same below), a year-on-year decrease of 4.2; the export amount was 1.636 billion US dollars, A year-on-year decrease of 40.2 percent.
In April, China exported 2.101 million tons of various fertilizers with an export value of US $0.628 billion. The average FOB export price is US $298.81/ton.
In terms of imports, China imported a total of 5.114 million tons of various fertilizers from January to April 2024, an increase of 30.1 per cent over the same period last year, and a cumulative import amount of US $1.725 billion billion, a decrease of 20.9 per cent over the same period last year.
In April, China imported 945000 tons of various fertilizers with an import amount of US $0.329 billion. The average CIF price of imports is US $347.72/ton.
