Preliminary statistics from China Customs show that from January to March 2024, China exported a total of 4.955 million tons of various large-element fertilizers (including ammonium chloride, potassium nitrate, and animal and plant organic fertilizers, the same below), a year-on-year decrease of 11.0; the export amount was 1.008 billion US dollars, A year-on-year decrease of 52.1 percent.
In March, China exported 1.956 million tons of various fertilizers with an export value of US $0.38 billion. The average FOB export price is US $194.12/ton.
In terms of imports, China imported a total of 4.169 million tons of various fertilizers from January to March 2024, an increase of 47.0 per cent over the same period last year, and a cumulative import amount of US $1.397 billion billion, a decrease of 12.1 per cent over the same period last year.
In March, China imported 1.307 million tons of various fertilizers with an import amount of US $0.437 billion. The average CIF price of imports was US $334.20/ton.
