Preliminary statistics from China Customs show that from January to October 2023, China exported a total of 25.77 million tons of various large-element fertilizers (including ammonium chloride, potassium nitrate, and animal and plant organic fertilizers, the same below), a year-on-year increase of 28.2; the export value was 8.081 billion billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 15.34.
In October, 3.103 million tons of various fertilizers were exported, up 5.9 per cent from a year earlier, while exports amounted to $0.892 billion billion, down 34.0 per cent from a year earlier.
In terms of imports, from January to October 2023, China imported a total of 10.417 million tons of various fertilizers, an increase of 37.3 per cent over the same period last year, and a cumulative import amount of US $4.676 billion billion, an increase of 13.4 per cent over the same period last year.
In October, China imported 1.167 million tons of various fertilizers, up 27.6 per cent year-on-year, and $0.382 billion billion, down 15.51 per cent year-on-year.
