Export
From January to August 2023, China exported 18.9 million tons of various fertilizers with an amount of US $6.091 billion. Among them, 3.4 million tons of various fertilizers were exported in August with an amount of US $0.853 billion. During the month, the number increased by 23.6 per cent and the amount decreased by 38.1 per cent compared with the same period last year. Cumulatively, the number increased by 34.1 per cent and the amount decreased by 9.9 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Among them:
Urea exported 310000 tons in August (320000 tons in July) with an amount of US $0.105 billion. From January to August, a total of 1.65 million tons were exported, with an amount of US $0.651 billion. The number of the month decreased by 10.6 per cent and the amount decreased by 45.8 per cent compared with the same period last year; the cumulative number increased by 34.2 per cent and the amount decreased by 9.3 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Ammonium sulfate exported 1.55 million tons in August (1.11 million tons in July), with an amount of US $0.219 billion; From January to August, a total of 8.47 million tons were exported, with an amount of 1.459 billion US dollars. During the month, the number increased by 17.1 per cent and the amount decreased by 33.7 per cent compared with the same period last year. Cumulatively, the number increased by 20.9 per cent and the amount decreased by 27.4 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Diammonium phosphate exported 330000 tons in August (510000 tons in July) with an amount of US $0.145 billion. From January to August, a total of 3.25 million tons were exported, with an amount of 1.732 billion US dollars. The number of the month decreased by 36.5 per cent and the amount decreased by 70.2 per cent compared with the same period last year; the cumulative number increased by 51.0 per cent and the amount decreased by 4.2 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Imports
From January to August 2023, China imported 8.1 million tons of various fertilizers with an amount of US $3.927 billion. Among them, 920000 tons of various fertilizers were imported in August, with an amount of US $0.32 billion. In the same month, the number decreased by 2.8 and the amount decreased by 45.8 compared with the same period last year. Cumulatively, the number increased by 28.9 and the amount increased by 17.9 over the same period last year.
Among them:
Potassium chloride imported 810000 tons in August (1 million tons in July), with an amount of US $0.248 billion. From January to August, 7.02 million tons were imported, with an amount of US $3.241 billion. In the same month, the number increased by 5.2 and the amount decreased by 46.7 compared with the same period last year. Cumulatively, the number increased by 27.3 and the amount increased by 16.6 over the same period last year.
Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium ternary compound fertilizer imported 100000 tons in August (140000 tons in July), with a total amount of 61.731 million US dollars. From January to August, a total of 870000 tons were imported, with a total amount of 0.561 billion US dollars. Compared with the same period last year, the number of the month decreased by 33.1, the amount decreased by 42.2; the cumulative increase over the same period last year was 46.8, the amount increased by 30.2.
Monoammonium phosphate exported 320000 tons in August (200000 tons in July) with an amount of US $0.135 billion. From January to August, a total of 1.45 million tons were exported, with an amount of US $0.831 billion. During the month, the number increased by 106.0 per cent and the amount decreased by 14.0 per cent compared with the same period last year. Cumulatively, the number increased by 13.4 per cent and the amount decreased by 21.9 per cent compared with the same period last year.
